What We Believe & What We Do

What We believe & what we do

The local church belongs to a Worldwide Communion

We are part of the Anglican Church of Canada and we are a parish in the Diocese of Toronto.

Anglican Christians have a three-fold authority: Scripture, Tradition and Reason. We look for truth in the bible, in the long history of the activity of the Holy Spirit dealing with God’s people, and in our own experience.

In brief, we believe that God gave us brains to use! In The Diocese of Toronto we seek to serve Christ’s mission through compassionate service, intelligent faith and godly worship.

Here at St. Paul’s we seek to be a biblically functioning community under the headship of Jesus Christ. We do this as we follow The Three Cs as outlined in Matthew’s Gospel.

What We believe & what we do

The Three c's

The Great Commandment

We are a people who are deeply interested in serving those in our local community. We want to let people know that St. Paul’s means acceptance and assistance. This is to live out the Great Commandment: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind ... You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

Matthew 22: 34

The Great Confession

We offer many opportunities for those in our midst to grow in their faith. St. Paul’s is a place where you can explore ultimate questions in a safe environment. Jesus asked his followers: Who do you say that I am? Peter answered: You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.

Matthew 15: 13

The Great Commission

Able to care for one another and certain about the core of our Christian identity, we can embrace our Lord’s call in the Great Commission. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them.

Matthew 28: 16

The parish church is meant to be a vibrant and dynamic place. We want to grow!
To grow both in numbers and to grow more fully into the image of the God who created us.

Loving & Serving others

The Great Commandment

The local church is meant to serve the larger community in Jesus’ name.

Growing in our faith

The Great confession

For those who are new to Christian faith, or to the Anglican expression of that faith, to those who are simply asking questions we want to provide opportunities for study, conversation and growth.
